Firmware 1.03.49_V for WD TV

I just turn on my device and i get new firmware detected Firmware 1.03.49 !

Yes, it is safe.   WD probably just haven’t made the official announcement.    They USUALLY like to put it on the download server, then update the website, then make a post here.   USUALLY, but not always.   Go ahead!

I’ve just downloaded it and so far has been stable.  I can’t see that it adds much functionality, but if it makes the system more stable that is great.

Oddly, it isn’t on the download page yet, so I’m not sure what has been added.

Thanks for the update!

Hello oceansoul,

I just successfully installed the Update 1.03.49_V via WLAN. My Box was already on FW 1.03.43_V and I really cannot see any changes. The good news are that everything is working after the update.

Cheers,

Coffein

They have also done the same with the Live Plus.

Firmware 1.03.49_B is available via internet update (installed and working fine).

I also installed working fine not any problem with hdmi !

But aac sound  problem is still exist !

I think there is some additions, like Mediafly… Nice!

Thanks for WD folks about this update!

To folks who never ran a Live beta:   The biggest changes are:

Native DVD ISO Playback

MediaFly

… basically, this makes the LIVE functionally identical to the LIVE+, with the exception that the Live will never have NetFlix.

Ah. this is lovely! DVD menus work nicely. it now says Restart or resume when you open a file you already opened.

Not cancel or resume.

Well I am not impressed.

Now my background is green and all the colours in the videos etc. are screwed up. It was fine last night before I updated the firmware.

** If anyone else has this problem, go into system settings and restore factory defaults. It retains the firmware upgrade but resloves the problem stated above

Just upgraded,

Can´t connect to my network share on my synology ds109j.

Worked just fine before the upgrade.

“This network share can not be accessed.”

Does anyone have the same problem?

No, after the update I had no issues connecting to my NAS or PC shares.

However, if you click through the menus too fast, it doesn’t seem to display all network resources.

Pause for a few seconds on Network Shares before clicking, that seems to give it time to find them.

For anyone having problems, try a full hardware reset after upgrading.

Things like share permissions, network and HDMI settings might benefit from a clean config…

No luck after a hardware reboot (pulled the plug) and factory defaults reset.

Is there a way to rollback to the previous firmware?

So you mean WDTV Live - not the WDTV ?

They’ve updated the page by now.

If adds MediaFly which is actually a lot, especially if you create your own account at Mediafly.com and add feeds.

Speedwig:  Double check your COLORSPACE configurations in the setup.

It’s possible you are using a colorspace that isn’t compatible.

After the update my VIDEO_TS files don’t seem to work anymore.

When i play them, i just get black screen, while the time keeps ticking.

The files i try to play worked fine before the update.

Anyone found a solution for this ?

playing the vob files inside the VIDEO_TS folder, also gives only black screen btw.

i still have the same problem as before

the sound playing through hdmi is recognised as linear PCM without multichannel

when i play the same file with toslink / optical cable i have dolby digital with surround sound

and it already tried 2 hdmi cables, which have no problem playing dolby digital with PS3 or Xbox 360
