When I copy files to the drive (drag and drop) the files appear in the cloud drive’s directory, but when I go to another directory and come back they are gone. And it appears if I try it a second time, the file gets a _2 added to the name, so somehow it sees that the file is there somewhere, but I cant see it.

When I copy several directories it takes some time, but it seems that the program logs out and doesnt finish the job. I have no idea which files didnt make it to the drive.

Can I tell it not to log out somehow? Is there a timer?

Are the files actually stored on the physical drive, or are they in the cloud somewhere and the drive is just redundant?
What operating system are you using (Windows, Mac, Linux, other)?
What software, app, or program are you using to copy the files to the My Cloud?
Are you accessing a My Cloud on located on the local network or a My Cloud device located on a remote (off site) network?
What program is logging out and not finishing the job? Can you post a screen shot?
What logged out? What program, software or app?

Sounds like you are using WD Sync. Unless you need to use a sync function, it is the wrong tool.
Map Shares as network drives, then you can use them like any other disk connected to your computer.
Your answers to Bennor seem to have got lost…
My answers seemed to have not gone thru. Here they are again.
jgold - Windows 7, Firefox, thru standard internet connection hardwired thru my fios router.
I drag and drop into the mycloud directory using windows explorer.
After quite some searching, it seems these files are actually there, but they get put somewhere in the middle of the directory, and when I tell it to put the files in order by name, most of the files go into correct order, but these newly added files still are hidden in the middle somewhere. I tried putting the files in order by date, and then back to alphabetical, but it still keeps them in the wrong place, making it very difficult to figure out which files didnt get copied. It seems that it goes alphabetical, and then starts over again in the middle with files that begin with “A”.
jgold - I call it a program, but it is the interface to the drive in firefox that logs out. It seems to have a timer that logs out after a certain time, kinda like windows logs you out, but it is just the drive interface. It goes back to the login page. I’m not sure how long it takes before it logs out becasue I let it copy files overnite. Maybe it did copy everything, but I cant tell becasue of the situation #1?
jgold - Like I just said, it logged out of the firefox drive page, and goes back to the login page. I assume this is on a timer, and I would like to set it to last longer.

jgold - Then how can I access it from my cell phone when I am far away from my wireless network?
jgold - The photo you attached is of a “mycloud” drive. Mine is “mycloud home” and has the cross hatch design on the lower half in front.
Jgold - I am not using a sync function. I do not want to do that. I am copying files just like in windows explorer.
You’re asking on the wrong forum. Very different products. Try asking here:
Perhaps a subtle but important difference? Thanks.
WD’s choice of the ‘MyCloud’ name for the Home is unfortunate, and not helped by them not being clear that it is a completely different type of device than the previous ‘family’ members. It’s not a NAS in the conventional sense.
Few users here will have a Home, so aren’t best placed to help.
