I took my new Elements 1T portable hard drive out of the box and plugged it in. It showed up on my File Explorer. When I clicked in it, I got an error message saying that “The request failed due to a fatal hardware error.” I downloaded the recommended Windows Lifeguard Diagnostics and ran the scan test. It passed. Now what do I do?
Have you tried using the device with a different USB cable? If not, please try that.
