External hard drive does not show up in My Computer

External Hard Drive shows up in Device Manager, but not in Disk Management or My Computer. I’m using Windows 7. No problem until a few days ago. External hard drive shows up in Device Manager as working properly. I updated drivers. Uninstalled drivers and reinstalled . Have tried on two other computers with same results. USB ports are working fine. WDBUZG5000ABK USB 3.0 (USB 2.0)500 GB.

Have you tried a different USB cable to see if this is the reason you are not able to see the drive?

Tried a different cable. Still no luck. I can see the drive but can’t open it. Wants to format it. I can’t do that because it will wipe all info from it.
