EX2 generated more than 1000 Public_1... Public_1023 shares

Hi Guys,

As of last week, my WD generates hundreds of shares AUTOMATICLLY.

I called WD support - they have no clue what is going on and suggested to format disks and reset HW… great approach… kill the patient and he won’t suffer from headache…

the only think that was changed last 2 weeks, was that I ejected one of the disks, mounted a new one, but it was defective, so I returned back the first one.

I tried delete via onsole, however, it got stuck and only reboot made the NAS accessiable again (BTW - boot time is about 2 hours… different issue…)

I also tried to delete via SSH at /mnt/Shares however, console and NFS still sees them all and after few hours, the amount of shares is back (and doubled itself) like a virus…

Data is accessable, just amount of shares its impossbile to browse via other PC or Tablet - I have 1023 symbolic links.

Any ideas how to overcome this mess?

I would agree with WD support on this one unless you are experienced with SSH.

I have some SSH knowledge, Im SW. engineer developing in Linux platform last (15 years ±)   :slight_smile:

The SSH was enabled only to see where the public_1000 folder are pointing to, nothing more.
