Erased hard drive

Seems my cloud drive has been erased by western digital services. The company no longer wants to support the accounts created for my cloud hardware! All the user losses could add up to a billion US dollars. The email I received from the company seems unfeeling! I’ve been told to disconnect the empty drive from the internet and use it locally only. NOTE not what I was sold nor desire! My logs indicate only access to my hard drive Is Western Digital server. No hacker went through my firewall!

Hi @DRexStone,

Western Digital has determined that some My Book Live devices are being compromised by malicious software. In some cases, this compromise has led to a factory reset that appears to erase all data on the device. We understand that our customers’ data is very important. At this time, we recommend you disconnect your My Book Live from the Internet to protect your data on the device. Our engineering teams are actively investigating this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
