After installing the hotfix for UEFI systems, then the updates, system states backup failed. After removing connector and reinstalling, I can do a manual backup on both systems and it states successful but front panel still states backup failed. I have deleted the messages on the server but it comes back. Also, after the updates, Net Logon fails to start.
Thanks,
Bob
I really thought the front panel LCD backup failed was for the server itself but never paid that close attention. When you do the hotfix on the server it should fire a connector update. But uninstall reinstall will also work. After that, you should be offered a new windows update on the client
Anyway, so what is your issue? Does the computers tab show happy backups? But alerts does not and that goes to the LCD? And when you remove the alerts that is a right click-delete? When they come back it is a newer date?
The date on the server is correct? It has a tendency to go beserk
Gramps,
Hope all is well with you, it’s been a while.
No update on the client as of yet, just got the new system up with all my programs and data (lots of updates for Office/Visio, etc.) The date and time on the server are correct, when I delete the warning, it comes back within 10 sec. with the new time. Also, I keep getting an error that the NetLogon service is not running, when I manually start it, it goes back to stopped. The backups so successful but something obviously is wrong, I just can’t put my finger on it. Maybe I should wait until all the updates on the new system are complete (may take a while slow internet access (satellite )). Any thoughts would be appreciated. BTW, the front display always states backup failed when one of the units didn’t complete the backup.
Thanks,
Bob
Gramps,
Gramps,
Sorry for the empty post ?? But this morning all completed successfully but message still there, is there a reg key which needs to be corrected or is it due to the NetLogon service not starting?
Bob
Guess I need to start my DX. I looked at another running the same software and the netlogon service is set to manual and not running. Is your DX joined to a Domain?
So you have an alert that says a computer backup failed? If you look at the properties of that computer, does it show the last backup completed all of it?
Gramps,
It is not joined to a domain, and yes, all the backups (2 Units running Win 10 pro, one utilizing the UEFI) state completed successfully. I know the units are old like me…

I reinstalled Hotfix KB2686867 this morning, now my backup failed message is gone, but still have:

Set netlogon to manual startup and it will go away
Sir,
I want to thank you for keeping me on the up and up. I thought I had already made certain it was set to manual BUT to my surprise it was automatic, I changed to manual, deleted the alert and all is good.
Thanks again, stay healthy and safe,
Bob
