I am looking to buy a 3 TB My Book Studio LX. I’ve seen some posts about the drive manager software not yet being compatible under OS X Lion. But will the drive itself work? Can I buy one, plug it into a Firewire 800 port on my Mac Pro and expect it to work (can read/write files onto it) even though the manager software is a no go for now?
Yes, I will work. You dont have to install the software and You shouldn’t anyway. To me it’s just more work. Just use it as a drag and drop. But you will have this annoying partition of the software they gave you.
