Hi I’m new around here! Background on me: I like tech a lot more than I need tech. I stumbled across WD My Clouds while purchasing an external hard drive for PC backups. I used it to store some photos and home movies on in addition to PC backups. I set it up and then basically forgot about it for the past year or so.
I recently purchased an iMac when my PC started showing its age. This got me back interested in tinkering with my WD My Cloud.
Here is my set up; IMac, 3 iphones, & 3 iPads all connected to WD Mycloud. iMac Timemachine backing up to WD My Cloud. The WD My Cloud backs up to an external WD My Book.
I just noticed that WD has introduced the WD My Cloud Mirror and, I’ve gotten the bug to purchase one but, the angel on my shoulder says there’s no reason to waste the money right this minute since, I already have a working system.
My Question; with my simple setup, is there any real reason to purchase a WD My Cloud Mirror? Or would I just be wasting my money!
I realize the raid 1 setup would be nice but, would it really be worth it to upgrade now?
Basically, please talk me into buying one or out of buying one so, I can quit thinking about it so much!
