DL2100 "No Configured Volumes" After Firmware Update

I’m hoping someone here can help a total novice with this issue. My DL2100 (which is of course out of warranty and no longer supported) is still getting automatic firmware updates. After the last one on Sept. 18 (5.29.102) both status lights went red and the Storage > Raid Profile states “No Configured Volumes”. I have installed the previous firmware version (5.28.105) but that didn’t make any difference. I have rebooted the drive several times, but also no help.

If I Setup Raid 1 on the drive will it erase any data that I’m sure must still be there? Is there a simpler way to make the drive see the volumes that had been there before the update?

Thanks,
-Tony

Hi @aiorfino

Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the WD Technical Support team for the best assistance and troubleshooting:

  1. DO NOT have auto update selected .
  2. make a full USB backup before any firmware update

My PR4100 did not have any problem with the last update

but I have had to restore one time because of a firmware update

double check it is not doing a re-index after the firmware reboot - give it some time before taking any extra steps other than seeing if it is showing on the net and trying to log in.
