Desktop icon links work but the links are blank following a computer reset. The reset retained files and folders but third party software was removed during the reset process. Any idea as to how I get the original icon designs back?
Most shortcuts should be restored if the apps are re-installed from scratch. You can also manually change icons by right-clicking over them and selecting properties.
Thanks for your response ‘Trancer’
I have two WD NAS devices - MyCloudEX4 and MyCloudEX4100. Going to
My Cloud OS3 End of Service | Western Digital and clicking ‘Get Started’ - ‘Find my
Device’, neither device are found. I have previously changed the devices
names and thought that might be why the procedure failed but going back
to the default name(s) made no difference.
I can change the icons manually but only have a choice of a set of
‘standard’ microsoft ones.
The available Apps' seem to have changed. I have a vague memory of
using something called ‘WD Desktop’ (or similar). I don’t know if
resetting the machines completely would make any difference but of
course, I don’t want to lose my data and settings.
