Deleted files from MyBook do not show up in the MyBook Recycle Bin

I tested the MyBook Recycle Bin. I deleted a file on the external drive and then looked in the Recycle Bin. The file was not there. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

This refers to MyCloud. I have a MyBook. Does this apply?
