"Delayed Write Failure" ERRORS

Have windows XP SP3 on dell computer.

I Have 4 newer drives that are ALL Malfunctioning in the same way.  (2) 3TB  My Books and (2) 2TB My Book Essentials.

ALL drives have been given the task to work with Genie9 Backup Software to back up all my files and archive them.  All drives were fresh formatted NTFS.  All drives began backing up the files in my machine…and within 45 minutes they all began to issue the following error message:

“ERROR:  Delayed Write Failed.  Windows was unable to save all the data for the file G:$Mft.  The data has been lost.  The error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection.  Please try to save this file elsewhere.”

The drives backed up some of the files…and did not copy some of the files…so every time the drive fails…I loose files in my backup archive!!

Right now im backing up my desktop to another drive on the machine so I can re-install Windows XP on my machine and see if this fixes the problem.

I have also moved the usb connectors to different ports on my computer…same problem comes up.  I have also changed the USB cords to newer ones…same problem.   and I have swapped out the 12volt 2 amp power supply that works with other drives.

These drives all have the USB 3 type connectors on them… and terminate in the regular looking USB connectors.  I have several other WD drives on the system that work just fine all the time…but they dont have these newer USB 3 connectors on the WD drive side either.  Could it be that these newer USB3 drives wont work well on a USB2 system like XP?  What is the WD take on this?  I did install the 32 bit SES driver on the machine.

QUESTION:  What is the cause of this  “Delayed Write Failed” error?

Thanks for your help

Thanks
