Connecting to a new network

Hi everyone. I just moved to a new apartment and brought my Ex2ultra with me. Here, I connected it to my existing network. The problem is that I can’t find it on the router or on the network (Windows 11). How do I find and connect to my Ex2ultra? I don’t want to configure everything from scratch or format the drives because I have valuable data. I’m asking for help and support. Thank you in advance.

Did you set the IP address to STATIC and assigned it an IP address? Your new network may be on a different IP address scheme (192.168.0.1 vs 192,168.1.1 or vice versa).

You might try the 4 second reset to ensure the device is set to DHCP. It will also rest the Admin password to the default. It will not reset any other settings or data.

I know I definitely set a static IP, but as you wrote, there’s a different network diagram. It was 198.162.0 there. It’s 192.168.10 here. So I think that might be the problem. If my Ex2ultra is disabled on the old network and I change it to DHCP, will it still be visible after connecting to the new network?

It should. Once set to DHCP, it should grab an address from your router. You can then check the IP address on the router and use it to connect to the dashboard. Once in, you can make any changes you feel necessary.

Just remember, your admin password will be reset (should be blank). Once you login to the dashboard, it should prompt you to change/set the new admin password. You can use your old one if you wish.

Also, a best practice is to leave your NAS or any other device (like a printer) on DHCP and create a “reservation” in the router to keep the same IP for the device. This way the router will always issue the same IP address to the device. You may have to review your router manual to see where and how to set the reservation. It may also refer to a reservation under a different term.

I do this with my EX4.

Is the router you are using in the new apartment the same as what you had in the old apartment? What do you mean by existing network, are you in the same apartment complex? How do you have the EX2 Ultra connected to your network?
