Changing of the hard drive which i got as a warranty replacement

Does wd replace the external hard drive which has issue in the data port? Yesterday i got my replacement but faced difficulties in inserting the data cable to the port because of manufacturing error in port and data cable inserted very tightly but hard drive could not be shown in the laptop.
