I bought _WD 1TB Caviar Green WD10EARX in May 2012._The drive ran smoothly in first few days but then started non-responsive behavior. The OS would hang in between and I’d have to reboot manually. After reboot, the hard drive won’t be detected by bios (mostly). SInce it’s been over a month or two facing this problem, I consulted a local technician who suggested me to replace the SMPS of my box. I did it yesterday. The system seemingly ok, I performed Diagnostic test using WD utility last night and few minutes back also. It reported the same
"Test Error Code : 06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 102 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!"
