I just bought my new MY Cloud EX4 and installed it but I found that the available capacity is 8.83 TB instead of 12 TB !!!
I have 4x 3TB HD in 4 slots.
Can anyone advice regarding this ?!

In a RAID configuration your available capacity will always be less than the raw caapcity. The unit is keeping spare blocks fof data so that it can survive the failure of a single disk unit.
Given the 9TB that you descirbe, I infer that you are running RAID 5…

Skiwi thanks for the explanation.
After watching couple of videos on youtube i manager to understand the RAID configurations.
Unfortunatelly I already started a format process for a 12 TB system - which should take like 2 days - thinking that there is unlocated space or sth and formatting might be the solution
