Can't Eject WD My Passport Ultra

Can anyone help me? I would think this is a simple question, and I am likely missing something embarrassingly obvious.

When I right-click the drive, there is no “eject” option. There is an “eject” option for the WD Unlocker, but I cannot eject. It says “An error occurred while ejecting.”

Per Google, the only response I’ve seen is that I need to download additional WD software. I’d prefer not to do that if possible. And I think my employer has security measures on my computer that would block me from doing so anyway.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

To fix the issue, you can try the below mentioned methods:

Method 1: Run Hardware and devices troubleshooter
Method 2: Remove and reinstall all USB controllers

To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

a. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
b. Click the Hardware tab.
c. Click the Device Manager button.
d. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
e. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
f. Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.
g. Plug in the removable USB storage device, and then test to make sure that the issue is resolved.

Hope it helps!
