Cannot connect to new My Cloud from Windows laptop. The My Cloud is attached to modem/router, turned on and showing constant blue LED. Apple wi-fi access point is also attached to modem/router. Home computers, including laptop, connect to each other and internet through Apple wi-fi.
WD My Cloud setup software reports:
"There seems to be a problem.
We’ve detected that you may not be able to:
Copy files to or from the device
Browse the device’s shared folders
Map a shared folder"
Have tried connecting laptop to router directly by network cable and I have tried plugging the My Cloud into a different port on the router. Same result from WD setup software.
My Cloud does not show up in Windows Explorer.
As far as my network is concerned the My Cloud does not exist.
I am having exactly the same problem. I posted my shout for help a week ago and also emailed WD support, but still no solution. I might have to return the WD Mycloud…
Its not hard to access the My Cloud. For dashboard (configuration and settings) in your browser, go to URL: http://wdmycloud/ui/
To find the drive in Explorer, Click on “Network” and it should show up. If it doesn’t, access it directly by going to the “Run” prompt, and type in "\\wdmycloud" (without the quotes)
Easiest way to access the drive without doing any of the above is download and install QuickView, which will detect your drive and allows you to access the dashboard / file explorer from the tray icon.
Unfortunately, in browser (IE11) I got only the message “This page can’t be displayed” and a push buton “Fix connection problems”.
The result of the button …""Problem found: The remote device or resource won’t accept the connection.
The device or resource (192.168.0.102) is not set up to accept connections on port “The World Wide Web service (HTTP)”.“”
I tried with different browsers … no positive result, unfortunately! I cannot access the dashboard … I really don’t know what to do …just to get my money back!
Any last ideea!?
Btw, I’ve sent official email request for this issue at the beginning of December …till now, nobody from WD come with a reply!
Are you sure of the address numbers? I made the mistake of setting up the unit connected in one ethernet port, then moved the cable later to a different port. The original assignment was 192.168.1.105, at the new port it changed it to 192.168.1.102, but all the different apps were still trying to find it at …105. I had to manually change the 5 to a 2 in the app by right clicking on the app’s icon then change the numbers in all the properties tabs where it showed up.
I don’t know if it makes a difference, but I also notice that the address you showed had a 0 after the 168, mine shows a 1.
I have just spent half a day with my new 3TB my cloud and although I can see the shares and Twonky media server I cannot access the dashboard, setup gives me errors and could not create an account
I have tried all solutions I know the ip of the device but it will not accept a connection
I have raised a ticket with support but am not hopeful of a result so probably the **bleep** will go back for a refund as it is too expensive for just an external drive
Can you log into your router and verify the IP address of the My Cloud unit? If you can, look on the router admin interface for a way to set a fixed IP address to the unit. Typically it is in the routing set up or something like this.
Sorted at last Tried fixed ip, tried manual port forwarding, no change
tried a differenrt router still no access, then I looked at UPnP settings and decreased Advertisement period and increased Avertisement time to live after I applied the new settings I could suddenly access the dashboard but the device was initializing then I found that the firmware had just been auto updated and so I returned the UPnP settings to their default values and can still access the dashboard.
However now I have tried to access my cloud via my phone over the mobile network and have only managed to connect once although connecting through my home network works everytime
I usually get an error saying unable to connect to the device so still struggling to make this device fit for purpose
just logged in to dashboard and restarted remote access and instantly my phone can connect so it would appear that the my cloud device loses remote connectivity over a period of time ( I have also reverted to the new UPnP settings to see if this helps)
I’'ve changed (tried) all possible settings on router (DIR-600); I’ve changed the router with another D-Link (one of the newest) … all type of settings … nothing.
I’ll go back with it … sorry but incredible stupid product!
I have exactly the same errors and messages as Tel911, Adico, ssklondon and StringBe described already!
Also be a 3 terabyte model!
No WD dashboard access !!, but the Twonky media server is accessible via http://ip-adress:9000 (portnumber 9000)
I was in complete frustration when I opened mine up and started to set it up. Got the same error messages everyone above got. You would not believe what happened. I got frustrated and went to bed. 9 hours later I woke up and just re-opened the set up application on my computer and it connected. Just like that. Did it on my phone too. BOOM. Yaaaaaaaayyyyy!!! So excited. What a nightmare in the beginning though >_<

I would reccommend exactly what happened for me. Leave it on (blue light solid) overnight and then close out the setup application completely. Then the next morning re open the setup application, click getting started, click next and it should be all good from there!!!
