Cannot access files

I can log in

I can see the shares

but there seems to be no way to access files through the browser.

I can on my mobile using the app but not on the laptop using any browser (tried a few)

access it through windows explorer

How does this help if I want to access through the briowser? There is also no option given to access through WE just non clickable buttons saying what shares are on the device.

If you want to access your device through a WAN then, setup the cloud access (add your email) on the My Cloud.  After that, you can goto wd2go.com and access your device share’s there.  If on a LAN, its faster to just access it through windows explorer.  (Windows Explorer > Network > WDMyCloud  > [sharedfolder])

Ok none of this is of any help I have obviously already done all this and can actually access the website but when on the website no ability to actually access files exists.

I obviously want this when on the move and not when I am at home so all the rest is rather redundant don’t you think?

I want to access and download files on the move, on PC’s I don’t own, where the options I have at home are not suitable, this, at least I think, is the purpose of a cloud that you can log in via a browser and access your files.

I can’t, I can see the devices I cas see the shares on the devices but not actually access any files via a browser which makes it fairly pointless. I can access skydrive, dropbox, amazon cloud but nothing on WD2Go.com see the shares yes actually see any files no.

You have never mentioned which website you’re trying to use.

Are you talking about the My Cloud management “dashboard” website?   If so, then of course you’re not going to see your files there.   Nor are you supposed to.   It’s not a File Access system.

If you’re out and about, you should be using the WD 2go website (also known as WDMyCloud).

Is that what you’re trying to do?  If so, then you need to tell us what the problem is; where does it STOP working like the documentation says?

Do you not see the “Open in Explorer” button when in wd2go.com? Click that and you will be able to access your shares from anywhere…

In a similar boat I see the open in explorer tab but when I do it it say can not authenticate when I click that share what did I do wrong.

Ok now it changed to The network name can not be found.

If you’re using Windows XP, there appears to be a compatibility issue that WD is now investigating.  Does that explain it for you, or are you using a different OS?

using windows 7 and 8 Pro, i got it to find files now but it wont play files, i can open a file through file explorer and it plays to windows media player just fine but when i do through wd2go or the wd my cloud program player says it cant play file but again it plays just fine through reg file explorer so whats different is it the size of the file?
