Can you connect a My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage Device to a MyCloud pr4100?
Thought this was a simple question but no replies in 4 months??
I have a PR4100 I upgraded from a my cloud personal drive. I’d now like to use the my cloud personal drive as a backup device to the PR4100. Is this possible and if so how? Thanks!

This is to inform you connecting My Cloud Home to another My Cloud device is not possible.
I would like to inform you that “My Cloud Home” is not a normal network drive, which you can create users, shares and manage permissions between users and
shares.
However, “My Cloud Home” is a personal cloud server that does not have an option to give permission for users to access different private shares. Each user can set up their own private space that only they have access to on the device, permission cannot be granted for users accessing different private shares.
Maybe my question wasn’t clear. I have a PR4100 and want to use the My Cloud Personal Storage Device, (2TB), as the backup device for backup from my PR4100. It is on the same network as the PR4100 and I can move files to it, just don’t know if/how to use it as the backup.

We suggest you to map both drives.
To access and store data on a My Cloud device, mapping one or more shares is recommended.
