I apologize if this is a stupid question but I’m wondering if I can use the “My Cloud Mirror” as I would “My Book Duo”? I find the fact that the unit doesn’t encrypt data through the hardware itself more appealing, but I really don’t want anyone else to be able to access the files (I know that sounds bad but my kids will screw them up). So would I just have myself as the only user or could I connect it to the ethernet port of my computer? Thanks for any guidance!
Yes, you can connect the MCM directly to a computer via the ethernet cable and the PC’s ethernet port. You will of course have to use something else for internet/network access if you require that (wifi for example), but if that can be done then it will work.
The USB ports on the MCM cannot be used to connect to a computer, they are only for connecting expansion drives onto the MCM to add additional storage to it.
