OLDER BOOK CONTAINS MY LIFE. IT WORKED FOR YEARS UNTIL RECENTLY. I AM RUNNING WINDOWS 10. THE MESSAGE I GET WHEN PLUGGING INTO USB PORT IS… “UNKNOWN USB DEVICE (DEVICE DESCRIPTOR REQUEST FAILED)”
i HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF, INCLUDING INSTALLING NEW wd DRIVER FOR UNIT.

My WD Essential stopped working. Light is on but does not appear to be working. PC does not recognize drive. It does recognize a second MYBOOK I have.
