Blue LED of doom?

Hi, this issue may be similar to another recent post: my MyBookLive drive’s LED remains blue after being switched on and occasionally flashes orange, before instantly returning to blue.

I cannot locate the drive on my network, I can’t see it as a connected device on my router, the WD discovery software cannot locate the drive. On the back of the drive the network lights flash as per normal.

I have tried the reset button on the rear of the drive.

Is there anything else I should try or is it dead? Ideally I would like to get a backup of the drive’s contents.

Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

Another cable, another computer, direct to the router , power cycle and reset

if no go, needs to be replaced

what was the last thing you did before started acting up?

thanks for the reply Wizer. I’ll try another computer, however I think it might need replacing as you mentioned :frowning:

The last thing I used the HDD for was to stream a movie the day before.
