Hi All,
We have a my cloud that we use a lot and love.
But need to back it up. What are some common approaches?
I am hoping for an inexpensive easy way to make sure we don’t lose the memories on there.
Thanks,
Dan

Use the built-in backup facility, backing up to a USB HDD connected to MyCloud USB port (Safepoint on gen1, Backup on gen2). Slow, not particularly reliable, according to reports on this forum. Not automatic on gen2.
Using your favourite backup software from MyCloud to a USB HDD connected to your computer. Faster, more reliable. I use FreeFileSync to a number of HDDs.
The most common approach is to use the included Backup/Safepoint option on the My Cloud Dashboard. If you haven’t done so already, download and read the My Cloud User Manual (https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904) or see the My Cloud Dashboard embedded Help. Both explain how to backup the My Cloud, typically to a USB hard drive attached to the My Cloud USB port.
