I downloaded WD Backup, but it didn’t recognize my drive, then I looked and saw that Elements is not supported for WD Backup. Is there an alternative?
The Elements will work with most third party software (you’d need to check with the software vendor for compatibility questions) including the built-in backup software in Windows and macOS. If you do a search (upper right) here on the community there have been a number of threads where people have been looking for suggestions.
