Add network drive to my computer

Hi, since 1 month, i am not able to add mycloud network drive to my computer.

Today, with the new release, i’m still not able to add this old function.

I don’t want to just use the Wd sync folder.  I want to use my mycloud shared folder as a network letter.

How can i do this with the new release?

If youu are using windows open the windows explorer.  Click on the This PC.  Up in the menu bar should be map network drive.  Pick a drive letter.  Then either browse to the My Cloud or enter the IP address of the disk followed by the folder.

ie \192.168.1.201\Public   Then press finish.  Enter the password for the drive.  This should do it.

I do not try to add a public folder.  Its a restricted folder for my account.

I see it when i map the folder. but when i try add it, it ask my my username and the password.  I put my email i have sing in for my account and the password i have set for this account.  But it’s never work.

What i’ve done not correctly…

Do not use your email. Use the MyCloud Username for the Share you are trying to map.

If you use ‘Connect using a different user name’, and use the pull-down box, you should find your MyCloud usernames.

If not, type in the username, prefixed by your MyCloud name, if your MyCloud name is WDMyCloud,and your username is user, then you would enter WDMyCloud\user

For Windows, you can use WD Discovery.  Its a software install on WD web site that will automate the network install by folder, you can choose which folders you’d like to map, or you could map the entire drive.  Go to  http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?DL and select the MyCloud as the product.  Go to  http://support.wdc.com/KnowledgeBase/answer.aspx?ID=2686 if you are using a MAC.

I have just installed wd discovery, done the mapping.  It’s only map all my public directory.  All directory with some permission, the program don’t assing any letter…

Ok i have solve the problem, my password was not set in the box.  I had only the mycloud.com password.

But there the problem #2 : with the old java system 1 month ago, i was able to add this directory when i was outside of my home network.  Is it still possible to do it now?

I want to do this, because i don’t want to sync all my directory on my computer. I just want to have access to “save as” directly on the mycloud drive.
