I have a My Book live, got to be 10 years old.
I used to have access to it maybe 5 yeats ago but no longer.
Is there a way i can get into it? Its been powered and connected to the home router the while time.
Firs, I suggest you vacuum, clean all of the surface dust off of it, especially around the vents to prevent it from getting drawn inside.
Next, read the model number off the sticker, then go to the support page for that model and download the manual. The manual will cover how to connect.
Check your router and make sure that your My Book got an IP address and mark it down. You’ll need it to connect.
If you are running Windows 10 or 11, you may need to add SMB 1.0 to Windows features in order to use File Manager/Explorer to browse/connect to the shares.
