Accendently erased my MY Cloud. Am I screwed?

Was erasing some old folders and somehow my MY Cloud was chosen and I didn’t realize.  Is there anyway to retrieve the files?

Nevermind!  It came back on and is ok.

why? how? what happened there? you didn’t really delete them, or…?
