I have a 500GB Passport Essentials who was working fine for the last five months, but now when I connect the passport to the computer (Vista PC), it begins as normal but it won’t backup the data. When I go to the backup tab, it appears as the backup is running, since I can’t click on the run backup button, but I can click on the pause backup button. The files that need updated are yellow, but nothing happens. I don’t have a progress bar and I have left it running for the last two days and nothing has changed. The amount of data yellow has not changed. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

It look like Smartware is not working properly, try to uninstall the application and download the latest version from the WD website.
