Does anyone else find the 1TB My Passport Studio to be incredibly slow over firewire compared to other disks? I’ve tried updating the firmware but the disk isn’t recognized by the updater, so maybe there’s a problem there.
I noticed the problem when I moved my Photoshop Lightroom library onto the disk and unfortunately it is almost unusably slow. Going back to the OLD firewire portable disk, a Seagate GoFlex, everything is fast and normal. I’ve tried a simple test, copying a 1GB movie file to both the WD and the Seagate disks, the OLD disk takes 20 seconds, the NEW WD takes 37 seconds.
Any suggestions?
