Hello all,
I am deciding on a 10 TB hard drive for my PC.
The hard drive should be silent and energy efficient, speed is important but not the most important thing.
The hard drive will serve for data storage, which is mostly more than 100,000 DNG files of 30 or 40 MB each, video files and 700 GB of music files (FLAC and MP3), as well as the usual office files.
The hard drives that I thought of are both NAS drives, however I have a strong doubt whether the WD spec sheets are correct.
The 10TB Red and Red pro show equal energy consumption and equal noise levels, however the Red is rated 5400 rpm and the Red pro is rated 7200 rpm.
Does that make sense? Is this correct or are the mistakes in the spec sheets?
Thanks for your reply,
Joerg
