Use a USB computer keyboard (you may have to try a couple) eg…
My wired Logitech G110 … doesent work on the WDTV
My wireless Microsoft Entertainment Keyboard 8000 however, works fine on the WDTV
(use the arrow keys to navigate and press “Enter” for “Ok” )
Hi,
you can access the web interface with your browser: http://ip_of_device:80
and there you can emulate the remote control in the browser itself.
Thanks gspock , i forgot about that … usually i tell people press Setup > About to find the IP Address of their WDTV Live Hub.
Without a Remote Control, you can’t do that … so i guess the easiest way is to download _ WD Discovery Software _ and Map the Network drive … which should display the IP Address in the shortcut
eg. WDTVLiveHub (\192.168.1.3)
_ WD Discovery Software _
http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=1010&sid=206&lang=en
Then from there … open your web browser and in the “address bar” type eg. 192.168.1.3 … password is: admin
then select “Remote” to control your Live Hub
But if you have a USB keyboard handy, try that 1st (less messing around)
Thanks.
Connected a logitech keyboard and upgraded the firmware.
Now it is restarting continuously.
Especially youtube with long duration files.
Moreover no volume from youtube.

Just so i understand …
"It’s restarting … ONLY after watching Youtube ? "
if so, then that has been a reported issue (search Memory Leaks or Low Memory)
Will have to wait be next firmware release from WD to see if it resolves the problem.
Or, you could try Firmware Rollback … and see if the problem is still there in firmware 2.01.86
Here’s my guide: http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming/2-02-32-Firmware-no-longer-allows-content/td-p/781923
Another solution to add to all of the good ones above–use a Universal Remote. I know for certain that the Logitech Harmony works with the WD, and I’m sure some others would as well.
