"XP compatible" mode in WD Quick Formatter. What does it change?

I understand that it uses MBR.
I wonder if it can also change the logical sector size from 512 to 4k (512e → 4kn), so the whole capacity would be accessible, even if higher than 2 TiB.

WD Quick Formatter will change the boot sector to MBR so that you can reformat the drive to make it compatible with windows XP.
