Writing to root (authorized_keys)

Hello everybody!

I revived my old WD Cloud Mirror and tried to setup ssh as I did before (years ago)
I remember i had to remount the root filesystem in some way, to put the public key in the authorized_keys under .ssh directory, so it didnt get wiped on the next reboot and be able to login by key instead of password.

But I cannot find how to do it. I know it was possible but forgot the steps. can anybody please lighten me up?

Thanks in advance
