Windows 7 mp3 album art issue

Just upgraded my PC to Windows 7 and they have a nice feature in Window Media Player where it automatically or with  some assistance adds mp3 album art to each song. All mp3’s have art now and i copy (acutally its the entire folder) all mp3 files to my WD TV Live media player. Media player has the latest firmware. I see the album art in the WD media player directory but it does not show up when i play a song. Is this not supported on current (non-beta) release.

thanks

The track album art actually needs to be in the ID3 tags.

its not just the track info, i dont see any albulm art even when i search from music->artists in thumbnail mode. The album art is created in Windows 7 - Windows Media Player. I copy the entire folder on c: drive to WD directory. It copies all of the album art to WD but it shows up as “AlbumArt_{20D4F0EA-37C8-490C-971D-BCA926DFEF13}_Small.jpg” in the WD directory. Tried unplugging WD from AC, still dont see album art.

The WDTV requires the art to be contained in the ID3 tag IN THE MP3 FILE, not some seperated cataloged jpg created by windows.  Suggest looking at a software soltion like tag&rename to inset the album art into the mp3 files.  ID3 tags with art have been an industry standard for a number of years.  Don’t know why MS decides to do things differently.

iTunes will fetch album art for your own MP3s as well, but they are also stored in a separate database.   It can be a tedious process to embed the Thumbnails into the MP3 files, but that’s what you gotta do…

I use Mp3tag to update my tags and add cover art. It also can add thumbnails to mp4 files.

To add the cover you highlight the mp3 in the main window and then right click on the left hand square (under the discnumber box) - select add cover and browse to your picture. The cover will show in the box and then you just save the tag. The WDTV will now show it in the playing window.

If you add the whole album to the main window then you can highlight all tracks and add the same artwork to them all in one go.
