Windows 10 and 2 identical drives but only one recognized

I bought a new desktop with Windows 10. I had purchased a WD My Book 6TB drive a year ago which works fine. I purchased an identical WD My Book 6TB drive last week but Windows will only identify one OR the other, but not both. I found a forum on Microsoft and posted this question, but no response yet. A posting there had the same question with Windows 7 which was answered and resolved the issue for the poster. I tried that but no luck. Can anyone advise what I should do?
