WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics (FREE) … and do a low level format and zero fill (which will take a long time)
Plenty of other FREE 3rd Party Software that can erase data and use advanced shredding algorithms (Dod 5220-22.M) which is Military Grade and will take a long long time.
But, If you want to erase data making it 100% unrecoverable … then a hammer followed by fire and then hydrochloric acid is the only way to make the data 100% unrecoverable.
