What is the difference between My Book, My Passport, and Elements?

They all seem like external hard drives, are there any specific trends within the families?

There are differences in capacity for a person’s needs. The My Book is designed to be used in a primary location(Desktop), normally not moved around because it relies on external power. The My Passports are designed for portability since the run off the power of the USB port. The Elements drives are both available in desktop and portable versions. The main difference is that the Elements drives do not use any onboard drive encryption or provide onboard password protection.

I noticed you answered all three of my questions very well, thank you so much!

Yes, my commendations also. The answer is short, sweet, and answers more than asked. Very helpful. Thank you.
