My WD external hard drive is currently encrypted using BitLocker, and I manage the encryption and decryption via the built-in Windows BitLocker features. Are there any software options other than the native Windows tools that can be used to manage, access, or decrypt a BitLocker-encrypted drive?
Yes there are. Just ask your favorite search engine. Since I don’t use any, I can’t suggest/recommend any.
What’s wrong with the native tools? Are you having an issue with the drive?
There’s nothing wrong with the built-in BitLocker in Windows. I’m just curious if there is any other software that supports BitLocker besides the native Windows tools. I’d like to see what alternatives are available.
Yes. Hasleo BitLocker Anywhere M3 BitLocker Loader and Dislocker for Linux all support BitLocker encrypted drives. They are useful for accessing BitLocker volumes on systems where the native Windows tools are limited but Windows still provides the most complete BitLocker management.
