Hi all,

I intend to use a Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EARS 1TB for my QNAP NAS storage device. Can somebody explain to me what does 00Y5B1  mean since on the supported list there is this code written? How can I know what does it mean?

Does anybody has some suggestions what to put in the NAS  storage? Is it maybe better to put WD1002FAEX, for which I think is not necessary for storage rather than for sys HDD?

I foundout what it means 00Y5B1, but anyhow for storage that also serves for some daily edited office files. I saw that write is to slow for WD10EARS. Is it noticable on the 10/ 100 LAN or 54Mbit/s WLAN, or is it better to use WD1002FAEX?

What about cooling and noise with Caviar Black WD1002FAEX?
