WDMyCloud Mirror as proxy server

I would like to stream our national TV. The problem is that I need to be in my home country to be able to stream it. So I had an idea to configure WDMyCloud as proxy server. Actualy I don’t know how :frowning:

I know basics about linux. I connect to my cloud trough SSH.

So Is there any way to configure cloud as secured proxy server?

I dind’t test it yet with WD Mymirror, but it works with a normal Linux Server… so it is possible.

I add this document, if you do not add port forwarding in My Cloud mirror too… it didn’t work…

It need port forwarding in the router too (or UpNP if it work).

I Use No-IP DDNS in my Router (in the MyCloud have it too, but do not refresh good the external IP…), to have and external resolution of my IP. It work good at the moment.

Unfortunately, cloud services cannot be configured as a proxy. If you think about it, these two services have completely different functionality. The cloud allows you to store data for some time on your server. A proxy, for example, indian proxies, allows you to install new network ports that create a separate network for your device or a group of devices. I advise buying a separate proxy server because TV streaming will take up a large amount of cellular data. Other options do not allow you to adjust the transmission of sound and images. Good

Yes, this is a good idea, but besides knowing Linux and setting up proxy servers, you need a fast Internet because proxy servers consume a little Internet traffic. If you have slow Internet, you will not be able to stream what you want qualitatively. I hope you understand, and if you have any questions, ask me.
