WDBAMA and WDBCKA Differences?

Greetings all,

I am considering a large (12+ TB) external drive (actually two of them - one as a “mirror” or backup of the other) for home use. A certain yellow-and-blue big box store (I’m new here - not sure if I’m supposed to name names) has some on sale, so I was perusing and comparing.

While doing so I noticed that the WDBAMA0120HBK-NESN and WDBCKA0120HBK-NESN were at the same price and seem to have the same specs (as given on the retailer site). Next I tried searching on the WD website and that did not clear up anything, as the product page for the easystore Desktop Storage shows a mixture of the WDBAMA and WDBCK prefixes for different size drives:

Finally I searched on this forum and came up empty (forgive me if I missed something).

I assume that one is an older model. If so, that means they changed something, and change is not always for the better. So if any of you with insight or expertise would please clarify/elaborate, I, and possibly others who venture here through similar circumstances, would greatly appreciate it!
