Hi, my “my paspoort” external drive is not working correctly anymore. The computer sees the drive but only the first partition is shown by its name and all others just show up as a local drive but are not accessible at all. After a while the drive disconnects and hou have to plug it in again to start again, but nothings really accessible. The drive is a WD10TMVW - 11ZSMS0. The pcb is 2060-771737-000 REV P1. I’m a bit reluctant to order a new pcb as the two ic’s (u8 and u12) need to be replaced and i read som stories of corrupt firmware which is not solved by a pcb swap.
The file contents under the root of the first partition are always shown but are not accessible, all other partitions show no information at all. the size of the partitions is still shown.
What are my options ? Who can give me decent information on recovery ?? The disk is never dropped and the USB connector should be OK. I tried with usb2 and usb3 cables, no difference.
