WD TV Live - no "Get Content Info"

Hi everyone!

I’m getting really frustrated with my wd tv live. Everything works like a charm, but I simply cannot figure out why I can’t manually update movie info from the scraper. All I get whent I hit the “Option” button on a file is this:

I tried resetting hitting the reset button with a paper clip and it did a full reset but it still does not change this. What am I doing wrong here - please help a brother out!

can’t see your picture until it approved by moderators.

No “Get Content Info” is usually the result of having Media Library OFF

Turn your Media Library ON, and when compiling is finished … “Get Content Info” will be there as an option.

Setup > System > Media Library > ON

Thanks Joey, but Media Library is ON and compiling has finished. Let’s hope they soon approve my picture

Is your “Content Source” set to “My Media LIbrary”?   That’s done via the RED BUTTON when you’re in the Videos section.

Tony: I don’t get that option. I get:

  • Local Storage

  • Media Server

  • Network Share

  • Online Service

I then chose Network Share and my NAS Server DS411J

Thanks for trying to help me out - this has been bugging me for a long time and I finally took the time to register and ask here, so I appreciate everyone who’s helping out.

tell us what firmware you are running

Setup > About

p.s. if you want your picture to be instantly seen by the entire forum … (which does not require mod approval)

use a external image host … eg. Imageshack, Tinypic etc etc

Only one other possibility: You don’t have the Media Library set up.  Go to:

SETUP / SYSTEM / MEDIA LIBRARY / MEDIA LIBRARY MANAGER FOR NETWORK SHARES…

…and add the shares to your media library.

@Tony: I did add the network folder with my films to the Mida Library and it do scan automatically, find the movies and add meta info. But I can’t add manually which is a real pain if it finds the wrong version of a movie etc.

In about it says “Device Info 1.15.10”.

This is the one time where I really miss my ATV2 :smirk_cat:

Just for the sake of it double check that your Media Library is turned on.

I just looked at the pic and they are the options that are given when the media library is turned off.

As stated above everything is pointing towards the media library not being turned on.

Is the media library set to automatically or manually to scrape the movie information?

Don’t get fustrated - you two of the best users on this forum in JoeySmyth and TonyPh12345 trying to help you with this.

Just now saw your pic. Note that the icon in the open left is a FOLDER, not a FILE. You can’t add content info to a folder.

Hey guys,

Thanks again and good to know I have experts helping me out cause this seems to be more difficult than expected.

Media Library is turned ON and set to manual.

I never noticed the folder icon, but the strange thing is that it is a .mkv file, not a folder. I only cut the picture as it has my ugly face in it reflecting where I cut it.

When I return home later I will take pictures of On/Off and the file with the extension.

Again - super happy for getting so dedicated help - highly appreciated.

strange… anyways a ‘different’ way … what happens if you add the info xml and poster jpg manually using a 3rd party scraper ? eg. Thumbgen

Here’s a zip containing: Bigger Stronger Faster.xml  and  Bigger Stronger Faster.jpg

unzip and copy the files to where Bigger Stronger Faster.mkv is located.

p.s. the wdtv live streaming has a “Screen-Capture” feature so you don’t need to use your camera.

Setup > Operation >Remote Settings and select a key to assign it to, (eg 1,2,3 etc) and then scroll down & select the capture snapshot function at the bottom of the list (make sure you have a thumbdrive or hdd inserted for a place to save the screenshot)

Thanks Joey. I have decided to set it to automatic and let it find about 95% of the movies and then add the missing ones with thumbgen. That program is so easy to work with and I love it that I can manually setup almost everything. Problem not solved, but workaround might a better choise for met - so apprecited! Thanks!
