I replaced a WD Scorpio Blue 250GB with a new WD Scorpio Blue 500GB in an eMachines E725 laptop.

Can’t restore old drive to new drive due to the “Advanced Format” that no one seems to know anything about.

The old drive has 512 byte sectors and the new one has 4096.

Any advice?

Check the link bellow to download WD Align to change the sector size to 512 bytes. Once you change the sector size you should be able to restore the HDD.
