WD player is not streaming anymore!?! Blue circle keeps spinning!

My WD player is becoming a real pain. It worked flawlessly for 6 months. Now a lot of the time i go to play a movie 720p mkv file or any file for that matter and it the blue circle comes up and just spins. I know its not my files because they worked before. This happened once before and I just reset the wd live box and it fix but now its not fixing it when I reset it. Anyone have a clue? This is over cat5 cable to not wirless.

The network machine is windows 7.

did a hard reset and upgraded to the new beta public  firmware and its working lets hope for a long time :slight_smile:

You have probably played a ‘bad’ file which causes this and hangs up the unit until its reset. If it was the ‘mkv problem’ then I believe that has been solved in the latest firmware so it may not happen again.

Yes if you even preview a bad file it wont play any files until its reset.

Thanks. Such a simple thing to suggest and all sorted now. It appeared to be a dodgy MKV movie. It played ok on my PC, but when i tried to stream it locked eerything up! Very stange. Thanks for your help :slight_smile:
