WD Passport X Compatability

Hi guys,

I’m looking to buy an external HDD for my PS4 and was wondering if anyone could tell me whether this model will work? I’m looking at Western Digital USB 2TB Passport X External HDD (WDBCRM0020BBK-NESN). Everywhere I look it refers to only Xbox and PC, but all of those articles were dated before the PS4 release of the new firmware which allows external HDDs.

On a side note, if it doesn’t can I just reformat this and use it as a normal storage drive on Mac?

Hello,

This unit was designed to work primarily with XBox console. However, you can use the unit on a Windows and Mac computers.

I haven’t seen any post regarding this drive on a PS4 game console.
