When I connect my WD Mycloud through my home wi if network to my smart TV, all my folders are visible on the smart TV including protected ones. How do I assure that only the public folder is shared on my smart tv.
DLNA does not have security. all folders with media serving enabled will be visable on the TV. this is a DLNA “feature” not a WD issue

Using a media browser & DLNA?
Using a file browser?
The Twonky DLNA media server, by default, only presents media in Public.

This leads me to suspect you’re accessing via a file browser. If it’s able to bypass the share access control, WD should be made aware of it.
