Recently my WD My Passport 1TB portable hard drive has started giving problem. I have great difficulty in accessing my data:smileysad:. I checked my drive with Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows as specified in some online forum. The result is showing Extended Test is failed. What can I do now? Anyone please help me.

Well you can try reformatting the drive with DLG and select write with zeroes and rerun the tests. Or you can just contact WD if the drive is stinn in warranty.
As you suggest, I did write with zeroes and repeated all the testing. Still the EXTENDED TEST is failing. Results are here,

My drive is covered under warrenty. I lost few of my data due to bad sectors. I am really clueless about the cause for this problem. I am unhappy now. :mansad:
